W3:17:35 (-3.296172) From Newport, take the M4 West & get off at exit 33 for Barry, Follow this road A4232, for 3 miles. Pass the turning for St Fagans, & get off at the next exit (Culverhouse Cross) signposted for Barry & Airport. Go up the slip road in the middle lane the A4050 for Barry. At the 6th roundabout take the second exit right, still following airport & Barry. At the 7th roundabout go straight on still following airport sign. (Brown tourist signpost for Barry is to the left.) At the 8th roundabout (Barry Comp on Left.) Tesco on the right, turn left at Texaco Garage & Co Op, onto B4266 Pontypridd Rd signposted Porthkerry Country Park. (You are no longer on road to Airport.) At the next roundabout turn right into Park Crescent signposted The Knap & PorthKerry Park. At the next mini roundabout turn right into Park Road, also signposted The Knap & PorthKerry Park. Follow this road for 300 yards until you come to a junction on the left for Romilley Park Road. Turn left & follow Romilly Road around until you come to a T junction & a bridge on the right. Turn right, go under the bridge & then first right into Bron-Y_-Mor . Follow this road, it bends to right, to a roundabout & then turn right into the car park. Toilets available. From Pontypool, make your way to Caerphilly. At the Pwllypant roundabout in Caerphilly, Take the Caerphilly bypass signposted Cardiff A468 A469 & A470 to the big roundabout for Nantgarw. Go down Nantgarw hill & go left onto the A470 for Cardiff, then take the second exit for M4 West towards Bridgend. Exit M4 at junction 33. Now follow the Newport directions. |

Nice walk, but how do I get there? Well you should go to the Tregare Street meeting point, be early we leave promptly.That way you can car share with others. But if you need instructions to get to the walk start point this page may be where you can find them.
